Michelin one of the most respected global food guides have confirmed that The Walnut Club will be entered into the 2008 guide. Michelin can not advise at this stage at what rating but we will definitely join the elite 1787 other restaurants that are rated in the 2007 Michelin guide for Great Britain and Ireland.
Richard Mills, Managing Director of the Walnut club says;

It was always our aim to gain entry into the guide and set our stall from day one (2 years ago, June 2005) in saying we were Michelin aspiring. Many people thought it was impossible for many reasons, one being the lack of other Michelin rated restaurants in the region and maybe the relaxed style and live jazz four nights a week. We were also winning finalists for Derbyshire food and drinks awards and awarded for outstanding achievement for Peak District tourism in 2006..

Our main aim was to be in the guide to say that our quality was at that level and that we would maintain and be consistent with the quality. We realise that we are only as good as our last meal; and a visit to the Walnut Club is more than just food, our service and overall experience of the live jazz really kicks back against the typical traditions of Michelin rated establishments with white table clothes and small seating numbers. I really wanted to create an upmarket dining experience along with live music where you could relax for the evening, a bit of an old styled rat pack club feel…

I am very proud of our staff, especially our chefs who work tirelessly in search of perfection with each dish. Bare in mind our organic set menu is only £5 for starters/desserts and £10 for main courses and our clients get to taste award winning food for the price of a good take away!
